Macao Science Center has been featuring “Know Your Locks and Keys” exhibition in Gallery 2 of the Exhibition Center since June. Starting from 4^th October, the exhibiton will enter its second phase. With the rise of smart home concept, modern locks design and security technology is entering a new era. Therefore, the second phase of “Know Your Locks and Keys” Locks & Security Exhibition will switch its focus from introducing the history and culture of locks to the modern security technology and application of locks. 

A set of distinctive new exhibits will be added to the second phase of the exhibition, including the long scroll painting of ancient locks by Professor Zhou Xiaoru, the Head of Industrial Design Department of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and the latest locks and security devices provided by both Macao and Hong Kong lock experts, such as household locks, electronic locks and safes, intelligent access control system, etc. Besides, the Center is going to add new elements to the popular experience game “Lock Escape”. Through displaying different types of locks, models, interactive exhibits, demonstration videos, and newly developed smart phone app, visitors are able to understand the design, structure, mechanical principles, and the development of modern household security technology from different perspectives. 

During the Exhibition, the Center will invite four locks experts from Macao, Hong Kong and Taiwan to give lectures on topics of Chinese ancient locks, home safety and commercial security at the Center at 15:00 to 18:00 on October 4^th and 11^th(Saturday) respectively. “More than Locks & Keys” Science Popularisation Public Lectures is free of charge, which aims to inform public on how to enhance home safety and the correct ways to apply security equipments.
