Fight the Epidemic -Thematic Exhibition of Combating with COVID-19 Enjoyed Great Popularity

Since the opening, the Center has registered more than 10,000 visits

Guided by the China Association for Science and Technology, organized by the China Science and Technology Museum, hosted by the Guangdong Science Center and undertaken by the Macao Science Center, the Fight the Epidemic - Thematic Exhibition of Combating with COVID-19 has enjoyed wide popularity from local residents and travelers since its opening on April 30. As of the 25th of this month, there were more than 11,000 enthusiastic visitors in one month after the opening of the exhibition. In the past few days, many government departments, schools and institutions actively organized their members to visit the exhibition to review the arduous experience of the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic in various places in the past year or more, and to show their respects for the medical staff who fought against the epidemic and protected the health of the people across the country.

A few days ago, Kiang Wu Hospital took the lead in organizing 40 employees to visit the Fight the Epidemic - Thematic Exhibition of Combating with COVID-19. During the visit, everyone listened carefully to the guides' explanation and watched short documentaries about the fight against the epidemic. They reviewed the pathogenic mechanism of the COVID-19 through a number of interactive exhibits, or learned about the touching stories about the medical staff known as "countermarch people" who rushed to the front line in Hubei to help fight against the epidemic without hesitation through the short documentaries and audio recordings.

The Macao Serviços de Polícia Unitários, the Public Security Police Force of Macao and the Judiciary Police Directorate also organized nearly 100 front-line personnel to visit the exhibition. Participants remarked that the content of the exhibition was very rich, which helped arouse everyone's awareness of the prevention of the COVID-19 and disperse their confusion, and then made people more cherish the uneasy results in the fight against the epidemic. In addition, the Macau Polytechnic Institute and the Escola Secundária Hou Kong (Seccão Primaria) also organized more than 50 teachers and more than 150 students to visit the exhibition. The students were very interested in the exhibition. They were enthusiastically tried to operate various interactive or multimedia exhibits in addition to learning more about the human immune system and the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases through mobile apps or voice devices.

The Macao Science Center expects to deepen the public's understanding of the COVID-19 and to convey the correct concepts and information about epidemic prevention, in order to help minimize the impact of the epidemic in Macao and fight back the outbreak, and more importantly, to express our high respects for the medical staff and scientific research workers who stick to the front-line of the fight against the epidemic all over the country by holding the Fight the Epidemic - Thematic Exhibition of Combating with COVID-19.

The Fight the Epidemic - Thematic Exhibition of Combating with COVID-19 will last until July 4 this year. The opening hours are from 10 am to 6 pm from Monday to Sunday regardless of public holidays, but the Center is closed on Thursdays. These people can enjoy free admission to the Exhibition Center: full-time students, teachers with certificates issued by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, staff of educational institutions and full-time personnel for leisure activities.
