Macao Science Center Resumes Opening to the Public this Saturday
The "Ancient Chinese Inventions Experience Exhibition" Is Launched on the Same Day
In response to the abatement of the COVID-19 pandemic in Macao, Macao Science Center (MSC) will resume opening to the public from this Saturday (October 23) and will accept group bookings as usual. MSC will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and closed on Thursdays.
As MSC's continued effort in cooperating with the Macao SAR Government on the prevention and control of COVID-19, the maximum number of visitors to the Exhibition Center and the Planetarium will be reduced by half, while demonstrations, workshops, science theater and theater tours will proceed as usual. The Planetarium will play UHD dome shows, and audience will be seated at an appropriate distance from each other. To prevent visitors from gathering, MSC will implement crowd control measures in public areas such as the Exhibition Center, the Planetarium and the Gift Shop. Visitors are advised to pay attention to the notices on site and follow the guidelines of the staff.
To ensure a hygienic environment, MSC always pays attention to cleaning and will fully disinfect all exhibits and equipment before reopening. All visitors are required to wear masks, take a temperature check, present a valid Macao Health Code and disinfect their hands with the hand sanitizer before entering and purchasing tickets. Visitors with fever and suspected respiratory infections will be denied admission and advised to seek immediate medical attention. MSC appreciates visitors' understanding and cooperation with the above measures, and hopes that visitors can wear masks throughout the activities and be aware of personal hygiene at all times. Visitors can disinfect their hands with the hand sanitizer at the entrance of MSC, in the exhibition gallery and in the Gift Shop.
As MSC will resume opening from October 23, the "Ancient Chinese Inventions Experience Exhibition" will be held at Gallery 6 of the Exhibition Center on the same day. Through visual interactive technology, the exhibition takes the public on a journey through the 5,000 years of China's history, to understand the development of science and technology in ancient China and its contribution to the Chinese nation and the world civilization. Members of the public are welcome to visit and gain an understanding of the essence of traditional Chinese culture and technological civilization.
