The new members of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Committee of Macao Science Center Limited took office on April 1 and held the first meeting, which was hosted by the President of the General Meeting of Shareholders, Mr. Kong Chi Meng. The members discussed and exchanged views on the future development direction and work plan of the Macao Science Center and visited the main facilities and exhibitions of the Center after the meeting.

At the meeting, President Kong Chi Meng said that, in addition to promoting science education, high-tech and science communication for young people in Macao, the Macao Science Center will gradually develop into a science and technology education base targeted at primary and secondary school students, create educational resources to foster students' interest in science and technology, popularize science and technology knowledge and enhance their scientific and technological literacy. At the same time, the Center will intensify the training of science teachers to promote the improvement of their science and technology expertise, strengthen the functions such as developing applied talent and organizing science events, and promote more students to take up science and technology as their future aspirations, so as to cultivate the seedlings of scientific and innovative talent. President Kong Chi Meng also pointed out that the inclusion of the Macao Science Center as a science popularization and education base from 2021 to 2025 recognized that the Center should assume greater responsibility for the future development of science and technology popularization. He expected members of the Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee and Consultative Committee to actively contribute to the overall development of the Center in the future, and promote the Center to fulfill its mission.

The meeting was also attended by members of the newly established Consultative Committee, a consultative structure that provides professional advice and major decisions on the development planning of the Center to better promote the development of the Center.

With the duty assumption of the new management body, the Macao Science Center will continue to uphold the four missions of "promoting science popularization and education among local adolescents, facilitating the spread of novel technologies and science communication, establishing a new landmark to complement tourism development in Macao, and providing a regional platform for science education, convention and exhibition", actively cooperate with the SAR Government's education and youth policies, fully leverage its function as a science popularization and education base, and contribute to the promotion of science literacy and the development of scientific and innovative talent for all. Meanwhile, it will rely on its advantages to promote tourism and moderate economic diversification in Macao, strengthen the cooperation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and integrate into the overall development of China.

The members of the new organizational structure of the Macao Science Center are as follows:

Board of Directors: Mok Ian Ian (President), Wong Ka Ki (Vice-President), Sio Hon Pan, Vong Iat Hang, Tam Kam Weng, Mak Pui In and Zheng Jie Zhao.

Supervisory Committee: Kuan Ho Weng (President), Wang Chuang and Ung Chi Keong.

Consultative Committee: Iu Vai Pan (President), Mok Kai Meng, U Seng Pan, To Wai Ming and Lao Kun Wa.
