Macao Science Center Becomes a Destination of the New Route - “Student Research and Study – Macao Science Tour of Stay, Dine and See Macao”,

and Will Provide Diversified Science Popularization and Education Activities for Primary and Secondary School Students

     A total of 10 new routes of “Student Research and Study” will be added to the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” program from June 1 to July 31. The Macao Science Center, as one of the destinations of the new route "Macao Science Tour", expects to promote children's and young people's interest in science by leading primary and secondary school students to visit exhibitions and arranging diversified science popularization and education activities, and encourage them to apply interdisciplinary knowledge to solve problems in reality through scientific investigation.

     In collaboration with the General Association of Chinese Students in Macao, the Macao Science Center recruited a number of local tertiary students and trained them as science communicators to lead science tours for teachers and students and provide guided tours of the exhibition, helping tertiary students to gain valuable work experience while improving their knowledge of the Center and science technology, so as to enhance science popularization and education. Science communicators will assist visiting students in handling and experiencing the various interactive exhibits in the galleries and explain to them the relevant scientific knowledge. The Center has also prepared worksheets designed according to ages and gallery themes for teachers and students to help them consolidate their knowledge.

     In the future, the Macao Science Center will continue to update its exhibitions, develop more diversified models, and fulfill its responsibilities as a "National Science Popularization and Education Base" and "National Scientist Spirit Education Base" through more in-depth collaboration between the Center and schools. The Center will realize the mission of promoting science popularization and education among young people, allowing them to acquire scientific knowledge and practical skills while developing a love of science, a pursuit for innovation, a respect for knowledge and a dedication to science.

     Macao Science Center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday regardless of public holidays. It is closed on Thursdays and Lunar New Year's Eve.
