With the abatement of the COVID-19 pandemic in Macao, Macao Science Center (MSC) will continue to launch new popular science education programs through the YouTube channel of the "MSC Online Educational Resource Platform" and the MSC WeChat subscription account in early August so that students can learn all kinds of popular science knowledge through the Internet, make good use of the summer vacation to enrich themselves, and prepare for the new school year. 

In addition to the existing popular programs "Pandemic Prevention Information Station", "Weekly Science News", "Metaverse", "Picture Books on Chinese Scientists", and "Starry Sky Field Online", MSC will launch new programs starting from August 1. The topics of the programs cover recent exhibitions as well as physical and mental health during pandemic prevention and control, including "Social Media Editors Visiting Special Exhibitions: 'Drug Knowledge' Community Education Exhibition", "Mental Health in COVID-19 Prevention and Control", "Psychological Protection Manual for Health Care Workers", and the short aerial documentary "A Day of the Consolidation Period". 

The two-episode "Social Media Editors Visiting Special Exhibitions: 'Drug Knowledge' Community Education Exhibition" will allow the audience to visit the exhibition online and learn about the characteristics of different common drugs and the health hazards of drug use, the drug enforcement work of law enforcement agencies, and the physical and mental health recovery processes of successfully rehabilitated drug addicts. It is expected that public awareness of drugs and their adverse effects will be heightened so that young people will not be led astray by curiosity. 

In order to increase public attention to mental health during pandemic prevention, MSC will specially launch two thematic videos produced by the China Association for Science and Technology--"Mental Health in COVID-19 Prevention and Control" and "Psychological Protection Manual for Health Care Workers"--to encourage the public to pay attention to personal mental health during the pandemic and learn about the key points of mental health care for health care workers on the front lines of the fight against the pandemic. The two thematic videos will be broadcast in Mandarin. All the above programs are suitable for upper primary school students or interested people. 

Since June 19, MSC has successively produced more than 120 episodes of popular science education programs that are broadcast on the YouTube channel of the "MSC Online Educational Resource Platform" (https://www.youtube.com/user/Mscmacao) and the MSC WeChat subscription account. The platform is free of charge and is suitable for primary and secondary school students or people who are interested in science applications. The public can also check the program schedule on MSC's website (www.msc.org.mo) or social media.
