Macao Science Center Responds to "National Science Day" with Free Admission to the Exhibition Center on September 17
The "Science for the Future" Series of Events Will Continue in Late September
To celebrate National Science Day on September 17, Macao Science Center will continue to organize a series of wonderful activities in late September to strengthen the science popularization and education in Macao and enhance the scientific literacy of students. Admission to the Exhibition Center will be free on September 17 (Saturday), and visitors who purchase tickets on the day to enjoy the dome show at the Planetarium will receive a souvenir. The gifts are limited. First come, first served.
In the morning, the Center will organize a teacher training program in the form of a lecture themed "Science in the Future - National Science and Technology Development and Achievements". Prof. Kam-Weng Tam and Prof. Pui-In Mak of the University of Macau and Mr. Lao Kun Wa of Pui Ching Middle School will share the development of STEM education in Macao, the cultivation of talent in chip design and the latest technological development of China respectively, so as to support teachers to understand the national situation and boost education on the achievements of China's technological development.
The Planetarium will hold a dome lecture on "Starry Night: Chasing the Chinese Space Station" at 5 p.m. on the same day. Mr. Liu Boyang, a Ph.D. astrophysicist and astrophotographer, will share the story of photographing the Chinese space station through a spot dome connection, including the "three-step" strategy of China's manned spaceflight, the history of the development of the Tiangong and Shenzhou series of spacecraft, the composition of each module of the Chinese Space Station, and the "four realms" of space station photography technology. Admission to the lecture is free and no registration is required. Free tickets will be distributed by the ticketing office of the Center before the lecture.
From 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on September 17, the Center will cooperate with Macao Orchestra again to present a science-music crossover performance, "Science and Music Festival - Music ‧ Kaleidoscope in the Universe", which will explore the subtle relationship between music and science through creative and interesting performance. The activity has been open for registration through the activity system and is now fully booked. The public can check the admission results on the website of MSC.
