"Science Dreams in Light and Shadow" - Tour of Scientist Spirit Films Receives Enthusiastic Response

Over 1,000 People Have Watched or Booked the Film Since Its Premiere

In order to tell the story of Chinese innovation, enhance the scientific literacy of the public and bring into play the value of the Macao Science Center as a scientist spirit education base, The Center recently participated in the "Science Dreams in Light and Shadow" - 2022 national tour of scientist spirit films in national science popularization venues, and has been showing six quality films on the spirit of scientists, namely "Madam Ye", "Poetry and Truth", "The Soul of Hybrid Millet", " Hsue-Shen Tsien", "Yuan Longping" and "I Am A Doctor", and seven animated microfilms in the series "Science Idols" produced by the China Science and Technology Museum to promote the spirit of scientists in rotation at the Planetarium to publicize the hard working and significant contributions of many pillars of the country to the audience, and encourage the public to learn from the patriotic, innovative, pragmatic, dedicated, collaborative and educational spirit of scientists.

The Science and Technology Section of the 12th Beijing International Film Festival and the "Science Dreams in Light and Shadow" - 2022 national tour of scientist spirit films in national science popularization venues of the 12th Special Effects Film Festival of China Science and Technology Museum, which is organized by the China Society for Natural Sciences, will re-present the difficulties and remarkable achievements of scientists in promoting national independence, national prosperity and people's happiness since the founding of the People's Republic of China to the audience across time and space. The film series has received an enthusiastic response since its premiere on National Day. The Center has organized 19 special film appreciation activities for 12 associations, youth organizations and educational institutions, with over 1,000 participants in total.

Participants expressed that, through the films, they gained a deeper understanding of the hard work and diligence of predecessors and hoped that young people would follow their example, set ambitious aspirations, work hard to equip themselves, actively improve their competitiveness, cultivate the innovative, pragmatic and dedicated spirit of scientists, and contribute to the development of Macao and the future prosperity of China.

"Science Dreams in Light and Shadow" - 2022 scientist spirit film series will continue this month and is free of charge. Welcome to watch the films on site through group bookings. Macao Science Center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday regardless of public holidays. It is closed on Thursdays and Lunar New Year's Eve.
