The month of May is full of surprises at the Macao Science Center (MSC). Science will be the main attraction, and it will come in big doses!
We start on the first day of May, celebrating Labour Day by offering our public free admission to its Exhibition Center, and to the first 30 Macao residents that want to watch each Dome Show at the Planetarium. But that is not the only offer for the 1st of May! We are thrilled to be launching a new 3D Dome Show, “Dream to Fly”, which will certainly take audiences from all walks of life into a dreamland.
To accommodate for the need of more Planetarium shows during Labour Day holidays, between the 1st and 5th of May, the Planetarium of the MSC will offer 8 Dome Shows per day, with highlight on 4 daily screenings of our newest addition “Dream to Fly 3D”. Just beside the Planetarium, and until the 6th of May, our visitors will still have the opportunity to visit the “Blue LED Exhibition”, officially opened by Prof. Shuji Nakamura Nobel Prize Laureate, at the lobby exhibition gallery.
We then move on to launch a new exhibition, the “Earth’s last Frontier - Mysteries of the Deep Sea” on the 8th of May, followed by deep sea related free lectures from 18:00 to 20:00 on the same day and again on the 9th of May, from the 17:00 to the 19:00. Moreover, throughout the exhibition duration, from the 8th to the 31st of May, all the visitors will be able join a workshop to guide a Mini-ROV inside a temporary water pool set up at the lobby exhibition gallery. On the 9th of May, visitors interested in Chinese medicine will be able to enjoy a free public lecture on the “Traditional Chinese medicine for general health and wellbeing”, at 15:00 at MSC’s Convention Hall. For attend this lecture you can enroll at http://goo.gl/forms/uOqmv1JmhL Still starting this weekend, on the 9th and 10th of May, younger visitors, between 6 to 12 years of age, will be able to learn how to use Scratch Programming by enrolling in our sessions weekend classes for only MOP 100. Still during “Science May”, and to celebrate this year’s International Museum Day, the Macao Science Center (MSC) is again joining hands with Macao’s other 20 local museums to participate in the International Museum Day Fair at Barra Square from the 17th to 22nd of May. This year, the public will be able to see firsthand the award-winning models of bamboo theatres and short videos selected from the 2015 Macao Science Center Multimedia Design Contest.
Last but not the least, on the 18th of May, MSC will continue to honour the International Museum Day tradition, and offer the public free admission to the Exhibition Center. For details on all of the abovementioned events, please visit our website at www.msc.org.mo.
