Macao Science Center Participates in the Summit Forum on the Development of the Science Popularization Industry of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

In order to establish a platform for the exchange and communication of science popularization among cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (hereinafter referred to as “the Greater Bay Area”), and gradually develop a regional collaboration model and efficient communication mechanism, the Summit Forum on the Development of Science Industry of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (hereinafter referred to as “the Forum”) was held on April 13 at the Nancheng Campus of Guangdong University of Science & Technology. The Forum will give full play to the advantages of science & technology and science popularization resources in the Greater Bay Area, and contribute to the high-quality development of science popularization commitment and industry. Mr. Sylvester Cheong, Deputy Curator of Macao Science Center, attended the Forum.

At the Forum, science popularization experts from the Greater Bay Area discussed the direction and future development of the science popularization industry in the Greater Bay Area. The event lasted until April 15, during which lectures by experts and exhibitions on the theme of science popularization were held. Through the combination of “meeting, exhibition and business”, a platform for display, exchange, discussion and cooperation for science popularization was set up to promote the pooling and sharing of science popularization resources, and boost the coordinated development of science popularization commitment and industry.

Other representatives present at the Summit Forum on the Development of Science Popularization Industry of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area included: Mr. Wu Shigao, Director of the Science Popularization Department of Guangdong Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Mr. Wu Shibao, Researcher of Dongguan Association for Science and Technology, Chairman of Space Science and Technology Institute (Shenzhen), Mr. Pan Zhanchun, President of Shenzhen Association of Science Communication, Mr. Li Minghao, General Manager of Guangdong Kerui Popular Science Culture Industry Development Co., Ltd., and Mr. Pang Shuang, Deputy Curator of Cixi Science and Technology Museum.
