Trainees of the "Program for the Development of Scientific Innovation Talent of Youth Science and Technology Village" Attend the "Online Unison" Lecture and National Education Cloud Classroom for Youth in Hong Kong and Macao 
to Learn about the Construction and Application of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS)

Organized by the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and co-organized by the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), the "Online Unison" Lecture and National Education Cloud Classroom for Youth in Hong Kong and Macao (Macao branch venue) of Beijing CPPCC was held this morning in the Convention Center of the Macao Science Center. Macao Science Center organized trainees of the "Program for the Development of Scientific Innovation Talent of Youth Science and Technology Village" to participate in the event to deepen their understanding of the development of China's aerospace industry, enhance their sense of pride and mission for the state and prepare them for the first nationally authorized and certified "Science Popularization Experimental Curriculum on BeiDou Navigation Satellite System", which was jointly organized by the Macao Science Center and the Aerospace Science and Technology Working Committee of the China Association for Promoting International Economic & Technical Cooperation (CAPC).

Professor Xu Ying, researcher at Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), doctoral mentor, scientist of BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, and Deputy Director of the Navigation Technology Research Laboratory of Academy of Opto-Electronics (AOE) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited to serve as the guest speaker of the Cloud Classroom, introducing the construction and application of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System to more than 300 students in Macao through the online live broadcast.

A trainee of the "Program for the Development of Scientific Innovation Talent of Youth Science and Technology Village" who participated in the event said that he was honored to attend the online live class provided by Professor Xu Ying, a post-80s-generation expert of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, which was very beneficial to him. Professor Xu Ying's in-depth explanation helped him more comprehensively and deeply understand the research and development process as well as the construction and application of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, which is independently developed and operated by China, and aroused his interest in studying professional aerospace-related courses. The trainee also expects that he can contribute to China's aerospace development in the future.

At present, Macao Science Center is comprehensively promoting the construction and preparation of the shared laboratories of the "Program for the Development of Scientific Innovation Talent of Youth Science and Technology Village" and the venues for the "Science Popularization Experimental Curriculum on BeiDou Navigation Satellite System". It is expected that the construction of the laboratories will be completed next month, and various training sessions will be officially launched in September. As one of the key training projects of the "Program for the Development of Scientific Innovation Talent of Youth Science and Technology Village", the "Science Popularization Experimental Curriculum on BeiDou Navigation Satellite System" will introduce in detail the function, design, operation principle, and scientific research technology that can be combined with the application of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System through various forms such as theoretical teaching, application exploration and manual assembly, so that the trainees can learn about China's scientific research strength and the system's world-leading core technology.
