Macao Science Center and Shanghai Art-Designing Co., Ltd. Jointly Create a New Astronomy Gallery - "Stargazer" to

Bring Visitors with an Immersive Experience of the Mysterious Starry Sky

On July 19, Macao Science Center Limited and Shanghai Art-Designing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "ADSH") held a cooperation ceremony for MSC's Astronomy Gallery in Shanghai. Both parties carried out in-depth cooperation and exchanges on the preparation and implementation of the "Stargazer" project, an astronomy gallery at the Center, to achieve mutual benefits and build a first-class exhibition gallery together. Sio Hon Pan, a director and a member of the Executive Committee of Macao Science Center Limited as well as curator of the Center, and Shen Hong, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of ADSH, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of MSC and ADSH, respectively.

Shanghai Art-Designing Co., Ltd. is one of the holding companies under the wholly-owned state-owned enterprise, Shanghai Film (Group) Co., Ltd., and its main business includes cultural publicity and exhibition displays, marketing planning, public relations, development of digital innovation products and other integrated business types. ADSH is one of the excellent cultural companies in China, and has won many awards and honors, such as Shanghai Model Unit, Shanghai Model Collective, Shanghai Workers’ Pioneer and Shanghai Famous Trademark. The museums, monuments, planning museums and science and technology museums arranged by ADSH are located all over the country and have received unanimous praise from the public and display professionals.

The participation of ADSH in the "Stargazer" project, MSC's Astronomy Gallery, is the first exhibition project of the company outside China, and it is also an important cooperation between the Center, as a public capital enterprise in Macao, and a state-owned service enterprise. With the unremitting efforts of the professional team of both parties, the "Stargazer" project was successfully implemented despite a lot of challenges during the cooperation period. Both MSC and ADSH expect that the Astronomy Gallery - "Stargazer" will bring the public an unprecedented and unique exhibition experience.

Through this cooperation with ADSH, the Center has renovated and renamed the "Space Science Gallery" (Gallery 1) at the Exhibition Center as "Stargazer". The exhibition framework of the gallery consists of four sections, namely the Introduction, "The Age of Reason", "The Distant Horizon" and "The Stars and Me", and is based on the clues of stargazers from different eras, blending art and technology with fantastic light and shadow effects to provide visitors with an immersive experience and review of the long history of astronomical observation, and help them to learn about the stories behind the mysterious starry sky. Macao Science Center hopes that the "Stargazer" can enhance the interest of the public in learning about astronomy, appreciate the style and spirit of astronomers from different eras, and inspire the curiosity of children and teenagers about the starry sky.

Other guests attending the ceremony included Mr. Wang Jian'er, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shanghai Film (Group) Co., Ltd., Mr. Wang Miao, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Art-Designing Co., Ltd., and Mr. Charles Si, Director of the Planetarium Department of Macao Science Center.
