Macao Science Center Receives Nearly 20,000 Visitors in National Day Holiday
Over 6,000 Admissions Are Recorded on October 1, Setting a New Single-day High for the Year
Macao Science Center recorded a total of more than 19,760 admissions during the National Day holiday from October 1 to 7 this year, a year-on-year increase of 5.7% from 2022. Admissions returned to nearly 80% of those in the same period in 2019. On October 1, the number of visitors exceeded 6,000, setting a new single-day high for the year. From the figures, it can readily be observed that the Center is not only an important out-of-school classroom for science popularization and education but also a popular leisure destination among citizens and tourists. In the future, the Center will continue to bring the public distinctive science exhibitions, education activities and dome shows in order to provide citizens and tourists with more interesting interactive science popularization experiences.
The special exhibition "Vaccines - Defenders of Human Health" is open until the 23rd of the month at Gallery 2 of the Exhibition Center. Members of the public are welcome to visit the exhibition to deepen their understanding of the scientific principles, R&D technologies, production processes, efficacy, applications, future development and other aspects of vaccines. Visitors can also come to the recently opened Biodiversity Gallery (Gallery 6) and Data Science Gallery (Gallery 12), watch the dome shows "We are Guardians" and "Mission: Light 3D", or watch the scientist-spirit-themed film "Science Dreams in Light and Shadow" for free at the Planetarium every Saturday or Sunday morning of the month. At 2 p.m. on October 15, the 2nd Carnival of Exploration for the Connection to and Integration into National Development will be held at the Heart-shaped Tree Square of the Center. There will be a number of booth games suitable for parents and children to play together.
To facilitate ticket purchases for citizens and tourists, the Center has now adopted an electronic ticketing system. The public can purchase on-the-day tickets to the Exhibition Center, the Planetarium and the MSC Kids World from the self-service ticket machines located in the lobby, the Center's website or the official WeChat account "澳門科學館MSC". The electronic ticketing system supports a variety of electronic payment methods. Visitors can also directly go through the gate machines at the entrance of the Exhibition Center using their Macau Pass or MPay.
Macao Science Center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday regardless of public holidays, and is closed on Thursdays and Lunar New Year's Eve.
