Pruning for the heart-shaped tree outside the Center has been scheduled from 13th to 15th October 2015. During which the area around the tree will be enclosed while tree care specialists work.
To ensure that the heart-shaped tree remains in good health, the Center needs to maintain and care for the tree regularly. After pruning, the tree is expected to grow to its original size and shape in about half a year (around May to June next year).
The heart-shape tree is in fact a Chinese Banyan. It has been erected by the seaside since the opening of the Center. Due to weather conditions, sun exposure and other natural factors, the crown of the tree gradually take shape of a heart and thus known as the heart-shaped tree. During the past few years, the tree has become quite popular among visitors and it is now one of the most preferred wedding photo locations for couples. Many families have also taken pictures in front of the tree and wished for a happy and harmonious family life.
For safety reasons, visitors are advised to stay clear of the tree area on the abovementioned dates. The Center appreciates your understanding and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
