Macao Science Center Responses to International Science Center and Science Museum Day

Free Admission to the Exhibition Center on November 10

    In support of the International Science Center and Science Museum Day, the Macao Science Center will launch a number of activities in November. Admission to the Exhibition Center will be free on the International Science Center and Science Museum Day (November 10) and "Starry Night" series activities for astronomical popularization will be held. On November 2 (Thursday), which coincides with the public holiday of All Souls’ Day, the Macao Science Center will be open as usual. Welcome to participate in various activities and broaden your technological horizons.

    The Planetarium will organize two "Starry Night" astronomical science popularization activities in November. The "Observation of Leonids" will be held on November 17 at Stone of Pre-historic Man, Hac Sa Long Chao Kok Coastal Trail, Coloane. Dr. Stanley Ng, President of the Macao Astrophotography Association, will explain the story of the starry sky and teach you how to enjoy the Leonid meteor shower with professional astronomical telescopes. On November 18, "Introduction to Shaw Prize of Astronomy 2023: FRBs" will be delivered by Mr. Sirius Lei, President of the Macao Astronomical Society, to introduce the contribution made by the winner of this year's Shaw Prize in Astronomy in discovering fast radio bursts, the definition, and characteristics of fast radio bursts. Free admission, and no registration is required. Free tickets will be distributed by the ticketing office on the day of the event.

    "2023 STEAM X Picture Books X Storytelling" will be held on the afternoon of November 11 at the Nautical Science Gallery (Gallery 5) of the Exhibition Center, suitable for children from upper kindergarten to P3 and their parents. In addition to the quotas applied through the "Macao One Account" application, there will be 10 on-site registration quotas for each event. First come, first served. Interested children and parents are welcome to register at the lobby of the Exhibition Center 30 minutes before the event starts.

    MSC is open between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday regardless of public holidays, and is closed on Thursdays and Lunar New Year's Eve (except for August 2023).
