The system optimization of the Planetarium that has started since 16 November is now completed and the Planetarium will open to public tomorrow (25 November).

A fire broke out at the Exhibition Center last Friday (20 November) afternoon due to a soldering accident on the exterior of the Center. The Center wishes to thank all for their concern and sympathy during this time.

The result of preliminary evaluation shows that the building structure is not affected by the incident. The most affected areas include the skylight and the aluminium cladding panels around it. Around 10 pieces of the exhibits (equivalent to about 3% of the total number of exhibits) are slightly damaged by standing water.

The Center’s exhibits and facilities are protected by insurance. The Center has started repairing the damaged facilities and exhibits immediately after the incident, in the hope of reopening the Exhibition Center in the near future. Meanwhile, the Planetarium, the Convention Center, the lobby exhibition gallery and the restaurants in the lobby shall open to public as usual.
